Hooray! There's finally a grant for Digital Marketing in Singapore! Enterprise Singapore (ESG) has highlighted the importance of digital marketing for businesses and recently announced in May 2020 that there will be a grant of up to 90% for businesses to strengthen their online presence.

ESG put out a media release on 6th May 2020 with regards to their E-Commerce Booster Package which gives up to 90% support for retailers to build digital marketing capabilities. Eligible companies who are looking to increase their online revenue will surely be keen to apply for this grant, and here's what you need to know before you apply:

1. Eligibility

The aim of this grant is to support local businesses with little or no digital marketing capabilities to be proficient in implementing effective digital campaigns to increase their brand awareness and sales conversions across various digital channels during the COVID-19 period.

These are the criteria to apply should you be interested:

- Business entity is registered/incorporated in Singapore;

- Has a minimum of 30% local shareholding;

Company’s group annual turnover not exceeding $100 million per annum based on the most recent audited report, or group employment not exceeding 200 employees.

Each business can only apply for the digital marketing programme once, and you must not already have any on-going digital marketing projects at the point of application.

2. Deadline to apply

30th September 2020 is the deadline to apply for this grant and Successful applicants can benefit from 3 months of support under this programme.

3. Use

The E-Commerce Booster Package now covers A one-time 90% support 1 for digital marketing advisory services for three months. These include capabilities to analyse retailers’ existing digital business models and assets, develop digital marketing plans and optimise their online marketing efforts on social media channels and Support for manpower to build in-house capabilities needed to set the foundation for sustained digital marketing efforts.

At the end of three months, retailers will be able to understand and apply digital marketing for their business, use basic digital marketing tools to develop and drive digital campaigns, Plan and manage the content of digital campaigns, Perform basic data analytics to assess the performance of digital campaigns and Identify areas for improvement.

Said Mr Ted Tan, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Enterprise Singapore, “Having an e-commerce presence for retailers is the first step in expanding their customer base and sales. But for this to be sustained, retailers must strengthen their ability to understand how to better leverage digital marketing to attract and engage customers online, especially on social media. Digital marketing skillset will enable them to remain agile and adapt to changing customer preferences while increasing customer loyalty and attracting new customers.

Enterprise Singapore will support 90% of the qualifying manpower costs, for a maximum of three new or existing Singaporean and PR workers directly involved in the project, for a period of three months.
